In today's changing environment, including the growing demand for electricity conservation and services, Hydro Ottawa Suite Metering is an equitable approach to measuring electricity usage for condominium corporations, condominium owners and new multi-unit residential developers and contractors. Suite Metering, also referred to as Multiple Customer Metering System records electricity usage for each individual suite or unit. Owners only pay for the electricity they use, instead of all owners paying an equal but estimated share.
To be eligible for Suite Metering, condominium and rental properties must include a minimum of 25 residential units within a single, vertically arranged building that is three (3) stories or higher. In addition, project plans must meet Hydro Ottawa’s Multiple Customer Metering System Installation Requirements for Existing or New Buildings.
