Hydro Ottawa has partnered with Relay Education – a Canadian charity that is dedicated to delivering innovative, hands-on programming on renewable energy – to inspire Ottawa elementary and secondary school children as they learn about science, renewable energy, and career possibilities that are growing as a result of a shift to a more sustainable energy sector and economy.
Relay Education presenters make science fun by exploring the world of energy through hands-on workshops where students become engineers – building wind turbines and solar energy systems. Students are able to investigate electricity and conservation topics with the Relay team. These presentations are geared towards students in grades 5, 6 and 7.
As of 2022, Hydro Ottawa has delivered 46 presentations to reach over 896 students.
