Starting in July, Hydro Ottawa will begin relocating electrical infrastructure to accommodate the LRT Confederation Line West Extension construction along Byron Avenue.
Overall, this project includes:
- The relocation and installation of new pole line and adjoining electrical infrastructures; and
- The reinstatement work of the excavated areas to bring the project to completion.
Our preliminary plan estimates that the relocation of the existing electrical infrastructure in the Byron Avenue area, will take approximately 6 months to complete.
Traffic control will be implemented when required in order to ensure that roads remain accessible and safe to residents and staff. Over the course of the project, planned power interruptions are expected to occur as a result of this work.
Affected Streets: Byron Avenue, Richardson Avenue, New Orchard Avenue, Woodland Avenue, Harcourt Avenue, Allison Avenue, Ancaster Avenue and Compton Avenue.
Project estimated start date: July 2020
Project estimated completion date: December 2020
Planned Power interruption duration: 2 hours or less
Impacted customers: 450 residential customers
Customers impacted by planned power interruptions related to this project, will be contacted by Hydro Ottawa at least 72 hours prior to the power interruption taking place, by phone, text, email and/or written notice delivered to their door.
Hydro Ottawa would like to take this opportunity to thank in advance all residents for the patience and understanding throughout the delivery of this important project.
