We would like to inform you that starting on August 25, 2021, Hydro Ottawa will be completing a service upgrade to increase the electricity capacity for the growing residential area. This project will impact residents located on Greenbank Road (between Jockvale and Cambrian). Please note that Hydro Ottawa continues to follow the provincial directives surrounding COVID-19 and would like to confirm that this work has been deemed essential to providing a safe and reliable supply of power to our customers.
In the current environment, we recognize that this is a sensitive time and understand that construction and power outages can be very disruptive. Our goal with this work is to maintain the electricity system so we can prevent larger and longer unplanned outages from occurring in the future. Please be assured that scheduling of this power outage has been reviewed and will move forward with customers’ best interest in mind.
You will notice increased construction presence throughout the day, including construction vehicles. Traffic control and lane reductions will be implemented throughout to ensure that roads and sidewalks remain safe and accessible to residents and staff. All precautionary measures will be taken to ensure social distancing and public health guidelines are respected.
Planned power outages will be scheduled during the length of this project. Customers impacted by power outages will be notified by phone, text, and/or email. Customers will also receive a written notice delivered to their door where applicable. Further, notifications will be provided if the power outages are to extend beyond the original duration time.
Our qualified staff and contractors will conduct this work safely and efficiently, ensuring that any inconvenience is minimal.
