Starting August 6, 2020, Hydro Ottawa will begin a project that involves replacing aging hydro poles and adjoining electrical infrastructure on Devonshire Place. This work is necessary in order to ensure the safety and reliability of electricity supply to the community
Residents may notice increased construction presence throughout the duration of the project, including excavation activities and construction vehicles.
To safely undertake this work, a road closure will be required. As a result, we have made arrangements with the City of Ottawa to close Devonshire Place from August 6, 2020 to August 14, 2020 (excluding Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, 2020).
During this time period, the daily road closure will be between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to minimize traffic disruption. Driving and parking within the area will be temporarily restricted for the duration of the work.
Residents, who require using their vehicles during these times, are requested to please make alternate accommodations to move their vehicle to a non-restricted area before the daily road closure.
A planned power interruption will be also required to bring the project to completion. Our qualified staff and contractors will conduct this work safely and efficiently, ensuring that any inconvenience is minimal.
