Starting in late June, Hydro Ottawa will begin preparation work to accommodate the installation of new overhead electrical infrastructure along Bowesville Road to accommodate the City of Ottawa’s LRT Stage 2 Trillium Line South extension.
Overall, this project includes:
•Tree trimming for right-of-way clearing to permit the safe installation of the new hydro pole line;
•The installation of 55 poles and adjoining overhead electrical infrastructures; and
•The reinstatement work of the excavated areas to bring the project to completion.
Our preliminary plan estimates that the installation of the new pole line will take approximately 6 months to complete.
Traffic control will be implemented when required in order to ensure that roads remain accessible and safe to residents and staff. Over the course of the project, planned power interruptions are expected to occur as a result of this work.
Affected Streets: Bowesville Road, Rideau Road and Ficko Crescent
Project estimated start date: Late June/early July 2020
Project estimated completion date: December 2020
Planned Power interruption duration: 2 hours or less
Impacted customers: 37 residential customers
Customers impacted by planned power interruptions related to this project, will be contacted by Hydro Ottawa at least 72 hours prior to the power interruption taking place, by phone, text, email and/or written notice delivered to their door.
Hydro Ottawa would like to take this opportunity to thank in advance all residents for the patience and understanding throughout the delivery of this important project.
