How many power outages are expected to occur during the work being completed and for how long should we expect to have no power?

There will be an outage scheduled for each transformer impacted by this work; a total of 11 are listed for this project.  Each replacement can take up to 10 hours, impacting approximately 10 customers at a time, however; Hydro Ottawa will make every effort to ensure that each outage is completed in the shortest amount of time possible. Notifications for the scheduled outages will be provided to all impacted residents by phone/text/email no later than 48 hours ahead of the outage.  As well, a written letter will be delivered to the impacted homes no later than 5 business days prior to the outage.

Many of the homes located in Fallowfield Village are on sump pumps and wells.  Will generators be provided by Hydro Ottawa to ensure that there are no issues during the spring thaw or run off period that typically occurs in this area?

Hydro Ottawa is currently reviewing the requests that we have received regarding having a generator available to residents during the planned outages.  We will provide an update to the community once this has been confirmed.   Hydro Ottawa is also reviewing the timeline associated with the planned outages to ensure that scheduling is completed during a time that is least impactful for residents.  As mentioned, residents will be notified of the planned outages in advance of the scheduled time.

Will there be any tree trimming required?

At this time, there is no tree trimming required for the scheduled work.

The premier just announced a state of emergency for the province with only essential services being able to continue. What does this mean to the schedule for this project?

Hydro Ottawa is aware and currently reevaluating our upcoming projects. Any updates or changes will be communicated with our customers once confirmed
