Why hire a licensed electrical contractor?

In Ontario, all electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrical contractor. This requirement is enforced by the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA). It helps prevent injuries and property damage that can be caused by unqualified work. A licensed contractor:

  • Is qualified and insured
  • Can provide their licence number upon request
  • Adheres to safety standards and regulations

To find a licensed electrical contractor, you can: Visit the ESA website for a list of licensed contractors Ask for recommendations from friends, family or neighbour
