Hydro Ottawa continues its commitment to kids at CHEO in new E-Billing campaign

August 16, 2016

Today, Hydro Ottawa announced its 2016 Go Paperless campaign, in which the utility will donate $5 to CHEO for every customer who registers for E-Billing before December 31, 2016.

The funds will go towards upgrading the hospital’s paperless patient monitors, which are used almost every minute of every day across almost all inpatient units. These important pieces of equipment measure a patient’s temperature, pulse, breathing rate and blood pressure, providing the medical team with ongoing information and the patient’s health.

Hydro Ottawa customers can also double the impact and convenience by signing up for Pre-Authorized Payments, and another $5 will be donated to the cause.

E-Billing is convenient, completely secure and environmentally friendly. Learn more and register today at hydroottawa.com/gopaperless.

Quick Facts

  • About 112,000 customers already enjoy the convenience of E-Billing.
  • Last year, 14,004 customers enrolled in E-Billing and 4,192 customers registered for Pre-Authorized Payments during the campaign period.
  • As a result, $90,980 was donated to the Max Keeping Fund for Kids at CHEO.

Quotes

“We give where we live, and CHEO is truly an institution that touches the lives of so many in our community. With a simple few clicks of a mouse, you’re able to access your bill online, contribute to sustainability and help make a meaningful impact in children’s lives and wellbeing at the same time – a real win-win-win.”
– Bryce Conrad, Hydro Ottawa President and Chief Executive Officer

“Virtually every patient treated at CHEO relies on a monitor to provide vital information that the doctors and nurses use to administer and assess treatment. The fact that Hydro Ottawa’s 2016 Go Paperless campaign is raising money to help CHEO upgrade our fleet of patient monitors is a blessing for our hospital. By engaging their customer base and offering the incentive of helping CHEO by simply signing up for e-billing, Hydro Ottawa is making a huge difference for families in our region. We offer our sincere thanks to everyone at Hydro Ottawa for allowing us to build on the huge success of last year’s Go Paperless campaign and for helping even more children and youth get better.”
- Jacqueline Belsito, VP of Philanthropy and Community Engagement, CHEO Foundation
