Power up your holiday break: Fun winter activities for kids

Winter break is here - and with it comes the boundless energy of kids ready for adventure. Whether the weather is mild or unpredictable and wild, we’ve got just the thing to keep young minds busy and imaginations glowing.

This year, we’re bringing back our holiday activity sheets, specially created to spark creativity while teaching kids a little something about energy, preparation, and the magic of the season.

What’s inside:

  • Holiday maze: Kids can help a Hydro Ottawa truck navigate its way to Santa’s workshop to restore power - because not even the North Pole is immune to outages in the blustery winter weather.
  • Emergency kit activity: “It’s a good thing Santa was prepared!” Children can label items in Santa’s emergency kit and learn about what goes into being ready for anything - even a holiday power outage.

Just download the PDFs, print them out, and pair them with crayons, markers, or coloured pencils. They’re perfect for quiet moments, cozy afternoons, or keeping little hands busy while you wrap gifts (or sneak a cookie).

Wishing you and your family a bright, joyful holiday season - with plenty of fun and maybe a few peaceful moments, too.
