Freezing rain causes dozens of power outages across Ottawa

April 15, 2018

Heavy freezing rain has downed trees and damaged hydro poles, causing more than 90 power outages across Hydro Ottawa’s service territory.

Crews are working to restore power to 16,000 customers, primarily in the central and south areas of the city. Hydro Ottawa’s outage map, which is updated every 5 minutes, shows the location of these power outages.

Hydro Ottawa crews are working to restore power initially to large scale outages, followed by smaller ones, keeping safety as the number one priority amid these icy conditions.

Hydro Ottawa will continue to post information regarding these ongoing outages on our website, hydroottawa.com, and on Twitter at @hydroottawa.
